An email I composed to mobSHACK after discovering a surprise charge of $19.99 on my cell phone bill. mobSHACK charges for a mysterious ‘service’ and I am unable to determine what it is. They denied my request for a refund and, so far, have not explained what service they have provided for the $19.99 I’ve been charged.

To whom it may concern,
I am certain that I have not subscribed to services from mobSHACK. Furthermore, I have never received a service for the $9.99/week that I have been charged. What is it that you do anyway? My cellular provider has two texts to my phone logged from you at a cost of $9.99 per text. I can’t even remember what they were, that’s how memorable they are. As far as I am concerned this is a scam and I have taken provisions to block all third party callers from my cell. Thanks for nothing mobSHACK. And also, yes, consider this confirmation that I would like to have this non-service scam terminated.
Also, please note that I did receive a text some months ago to which I responded by calling the number texted to inquire into the service being offered and requesting to cancel the service. If this was you, double shame on you and your no-good-billing-for-nothing ways. I know my reprimand won’t stop you from conducting your rip-off business, but a big shame on you anyway!
UPDATE: it’s been a week since the above email was sent to mobSHACK after they declined my request for a refund. I have not heard back from them. My cell phone service provider has refunded 1/2 the total charge of $19.99 for this phantom service.
